In my personal experience, women raise their voices because they feel like they aren’t being listened to. Men raise their voices because they feel like they aren’t being obeyed.
I think this decision is batshit insane. One of the primary branches of Tumblr is NSFW content, and many fandoms make amazing fan art that isn’t SFW. I would like to share this petition (I didn’t start it) to maybe make a difference.
I am really tired of the “think of the children” excuse for adult safe spaces being censored in the name of the unholy dollar and because they can’t or refuse to stop pornbots.
I have enjoyed having grownup discussions, seeing grownup art, and using grownup language with the option to exclude underagers from my area. Sound ageist? It’s not. I wouldn’t allow kids into a nightclub either.
They effectively have made this FB 2.0 and now if you aren’t palatable to the youngest blogger you are unwelcome.
That is abhorrent.
