First I have to say I love them all, so I will only sort it like I saw it when I rewatched the movie yesterday.
I can agree with some of this: Thor, Rocket, Bucky, Sam, Rhodes, Drax, Nebula, Wong and Hulk.
I kind of agree with: Strange.
Now let’s come to the others: First of all like I said, I love them all, but Tony wasn’t this significant in this movie to put him on the same position as Strange. The only person I would put on the same level as Strange is Wanda. And here is why: Wanda showed in this one that she is one of the strongest. She didn’t only protect Vision twice, when the Battle of Wakanda got harder, she joined the battle and destroyed this tank like things “easily”, and with this saving Okoye and Nat. Afterwards she, together with Okoye and Nat, defeated Proxima Midnight. But what is the most important, what shows Wandas power is the end, when she tries to destroy the Mind Stone and at the same time repeling Thanos.
The next part with “actually helpful”, the only one I agree with is Rocket. The other three actually did just one thing that was semi helpful. Yes, Groot did the handle for Thors Stormbreaker but this is basically everything he does in this movie. So yes, maybe he is more helpful than Bucky or Sam, but not more helpful than some of the others who are here listed in “did at least something”. The same for Mantis, she had one moment, that was semi helpful and that was it. And as much as I love Peter he didn’t actually do anything meaningful in this movie. He was just there, did he do more than Drax for example. Okay, maybe at the point where he helped defeating Ebony Maw….
Okay now to “at least did something”: and the first one directly Steve Rogers. When you put Tony on the same place as Strange than Steve should be there too. For me in this movie Tony and Steve had equally significance. Yes, Tony had more screentime, but he didn’t do much more than Steve exact maybe talk. For me they should be at the same level, at “actually helpful”.
T’Challa is difficult for me. I think what he did was more in the background, he lead Wakanda into this battle and risked his people in this. So yeah, I can agree with this, because on screen he didn’t do so much.
Okoye and Nat on the other hand did some amazing stuff. They defeated Proxima Midnight, one of the Black Order. I think this alone should put them above some of the people in the same section.
Next to the “fucking useless”: Hulk I agree 100%, he was a pussy in this one. But Bruce on the other hand was amazing. He tried to bring everything together. And in Wakanda he defeated Black Dwarf. So Bruce should be up at “actually helpful”.
Gamora at this point is unfair. She tried everything she could to stop Thanos, even tried to kill herself, but in the end she didn’t success. So to say she didn’t do anything is unfair. Shuri didn’t have a big part in this one, but she wasn’t useless. She tried to help everyone, especially Vision and I think we will only learn in the next movie how much she succeeded or not. Vision protected the stone, was even willing to die to stop Thanos. He wasn’t as active as he could have been, but he was injured kind of early in the movie, and than was not allowed to go into battle. And in the end he killed Corvus Glaive.
Now to the last one… poor Peter Quill. Everybody is hating on him. But please remember, everything that happened on Titan was exactly Stranges plan. Yes, Peters reaction was very emotional, but it was totally within Stranges, so don’t be to hard on Peter.
Okay, that’s it from me. My opinion, but I would like to hear others. 😀
Ok but seriously, the most heinous crime committed by Thanos was ruining everybody’s Friday.
Think about it, everybody was actually having a good day for once before Thanos da Ass showed up.
Tony and Pepper were having a nice morning, jogging and smiling and talking about having a baby. Thor and Loki had finally reconciled and JUST saved their people and were about to join their culture with Earth in a new age of Human/Asgardian unity. Valkrie was probably about to kick the drinking habit, Korg and Miek were gonna see Earth dogs and human food like schwarma. Doctor Strange and Wong were gonna have a lovely breakfast at a sandwich joint and probably chat about tea leaves and Beyonce. The Guardians were just chillin’ and cruisin’ through S P A C E, listening to some music and finally relaxing before they got that distress call. Groot was probably near the Final Boss of that game. Bucky was happy just feeding his goats and being all Zen af. Wakanda was in an exciting new time of reconnecting with the world after a bloody coup. They literally JUST got their King back and it was all peaceful. Spidey was probably gonna get home from school and watch Supernanny with Aunt May. Vision and Wanda were boning like bunnies in a hotel room and the Cap squad were having fun raiding Hot Topic and being edgy.
Then Grimace the Nutchin showed up and pissed in everybody’s coffee.
